INFORMAL AND PRIVATE GUITAR LESSONS, DRUM LESSONS, UKULELE LESSONS AND SINGING / VOCAL TRAINING IN CENTURION & PRETORIA >>

ALSO OFFERING ZOOM / SKYPE LESSONS

About the School:

We have teachers in various locations throughout Pretoria East/North & Centurion, as well as travelling teachers, that offer lessons in the comfort of your own home!

We are focused on teaching guitar (acoustic & electric), bass guitar, keyboard, piano, ukulele, drums and singing, in a relaxed, informal setting. You will not only learn how to play your instrument, but understand music in general, and how to apply it to your playing. Lessons are private, as it’s easier to learn while receiving undivided attention. (Special arrangements can be made for friends or family members wanting to take group lessons together)

No prior experience is needed, as we will cover everything from the start: how the instrument works, how your strings work (where applicable), notes, chords, scales, finger exercising, rhythm, time signatures, basics in how to read music, tablature, how to tune the guitar, ukulele or drums, how to look after your instrument, and even what to look out for when purchasing your instrument. You can take lessons on acoustic or electric instruments.

If you do have prior experience, we will continue from wherever you are with your playing. Both beginners and intermediate players will get the opportunity to choose their personal favourite songs, and learn how to play them, as it’s easier to learn while having fun.

All our teachers are fluent in Afrikaans and English. Lessons can be presented according to your language preference.

As the goal is to keep the lessons as informal and relaxed as possible, we don’t do exams or grading.

All ages are welcome!

Konstant

I started playing guitar at the age of 9, and have been playing ever since. During my high school years, I started playing in bands and doing live shows. Currently, I'm the full-time guitar player for Afrikaans artist & songwriter Appel. Furthermore, I’ve appeared on stage with artists / bands such as Leah, Willem Botha, Lee Scott, Brendan Peyper, Kurt Darren, Gerhard Steyn, Ghapi, Joe F, Elvis se Seun, Albert de Wet, Karlien van Jaarsveld, Black Era, Wolraad Woltemade, as well as various worship bands in church. I’ve been teaching music since 2008, and I have seen a lot of young guitarists grow in their musicianship!

I offer guitar and ukulele lessons.

Hi, my name is Konstant de la Porte.

Nicola

At the tender age of 11, Roelof enrolled at Rudolph Botha Guitar School as a guitar student in 2012.

Roelof’s passion for music, and specifically the guitar, grew significantly over the next few years.

After becoming very skilled in both acoustic and electric guitar, still in school, Roelof started playing in bands, both in school and church.

Roelof has been teaching guitar lessons since middle high school.

After finishing school, Roelof continued working on completing his Rockschool Music Performance Certificates, and studied Music Production and Composition during his first year.

After that, he studied music at “Campus Of Performing Arts”.

Currently, Roelof is a full-time musician and music teacher. He plays for a variety of Alternative Rock bands such as Graze Us!, Distortion For Emphasis, as well as Afrikaans artists like Eloff and Wilma van Heerden.

Roelof is also starting to make waves in his industry as a producer/recording engineer, and has his own YouTube channel, covering various aspects of his musical journey.

Roelof can teach guitar, ukulele, and music production.

He enjoys working with people, and his outgoing, yet humble personality makes any learner feel comfortable.

Nicola’s musical and singing background is rich and varied.

She started singing at the age of 5, and has since gained valuable experience as a recording artist, lead singer in various bands, as well as being a solo artist, writing and performing her own music.

She has received years of vocal training that she carried throughout her career, opening doors to different genres like Pop, Rock, Country, Blues, R&B and more!

She performs at local venues like Railways, Industrial Coffee Works, Francois van Coke’s bar and many more.

With the right guidance and enough practice, anyone can sing! Lessons will take place in the comfort of your own home. Nicola’s goal is to create a safe and creative space to find your voice, and sing to your full potential.

Stian

I started playing guitar after high school, and quickly fell in love with the instrument.

After school, I studied to become a school teacher. Thereafter, I worked as a teacher at Laerskool Kalie de Haas in Standerton, teaching both academic, and music subjects.

After a few years, I decided that music is my main passion, so I packed up my things and headed to the city.

I started playing live shows, both in the secular industry, as well as in church.

Soon after that, I started offering guitar lessons, as I have a passion for both music, and teaching.

I love seeing how students progress and learn new skills on the guitar, as well as observing the enjoyment that guitar can bring.

I give lessons on acoustic and electric guitar. I am currently the lead guitar player for Afrikaans chart topping artist Dodo Nyoka, playing shows all over the country.

Stiaan has been playing guitar since the age of 15, and joined Rudolph Botha Guitar School early 2013. He's been part of rock bands like Wicked Stixx, Them Dirty Shrikes, Skinee Sunrise, and also performs on his own. Furthermore, Stiaan has also been in various worship bands, and runs his own home studio, where he hosts his guitar lessons as well. Stiaan is a highly skilled beginner and intermediate guitar teacher, and has taught many children and adults.
